Grove Wellness Centre B&B is a family run Country home, very centrally situated, (Just off the N.73) outside the tranquil village of Shanballymore in the Ballyhoura Contryside of North Cork. It is 9 miles from Mallow, Mitchelstown and Fermoy. Grove House is noted for its warm Irish welcome for all its guests and is the perfect rural escape.
It boasts of a mature tree lined avenue, landscaped gardens and acres of rich agricultural farmland. It is the perfect getaway destination along with being an ideal comfortable home for any business person or traveller on the move for short or long term stays. The property has a wellness centre, built and converted on the original family home following a fire in 1995. It offers a wide range of holistic and therapeutic packages, wellness programmes, weekends & day retreats. Our location is within a short drive to many great attractions including The Ballyhoura mountain bike trail adventure centre, Doneraile Court and Park, Mitchelstown Caves, Annesgrove Gardens, Blackwater Castle in Castletownroche, and Glenanaar valley walking trails.

About

The property is owned and run by Jacqueline Mary O Farrell. In addition to serving the traditional Irish breakfast Jacqueline embraces revolutionary healthy-living and offers free advice to all guests on health & wellbeing. Due to this deep rooted interest in Nutrition Jacqueline converted her family home into a wellness centre & B&B following a house fire in 1995. Grove wellness centre is noted for its extensive weekend programmes with twice cancer survivor and author, Dublin born Bernadette Bohan (based on the Hippocrates Health Institute in Florida which teach how effective simple plant based foods such as vegetable juices and wheatgrass can be in protecting against cancer and other illnesses).

 

Dublin: (Exit 12) and follow directions from Mitchelstown.

Mitchelstown: Take N73 Mallow/Killarney road to Kildorrery. Continue for 4 km. Turn left for Shanballymore as signposted. Continue straight on. Go through village and pass church. Grove wellness Centre is the first entrance on the left after the speed limit sign.

Charleville: Take the Cork road through Ballyhea village and continue 4km. Turn left taking N73 Mitchelstown road. Continue 7.2km to the crossroads. Continue on Mitchelstown road for 5.5 km. Turn right at the Calvary statues. Continue straight at crossroads to Shanballymore village. Pass the church. Grove Wellness Centre is the first entrance on the left after the speed limit sign.

 

Location

Grove Wellness Centre is in an idyllic location in the Ballyhoura Countryside. The famous Mountain bike track is literally up the road. Bikers can avail of a much needed massage to restore the tired muscles and renew the body. Doneraile Court and Wildlife Park, playground & tearooms are only 6 miles away. Blackwater castle activity centre is less than 4 miles away in the historic village of Castletownroche.

You can reach us from Mallow: go through town centre to the clock house at the end of the town. Turn left for 2.4 km. Next left N73 Dublin Road for 12.8 km. Note garage on left at crossroads and turn right to Shanballymore village. Pass the church. Grove Wellness Centre is the first entrance on left after speed limit sign.

Fermoy: go to Ballyhooly. Take left for Castletownroche. Stop at Grotto on right before entering the village. Take Kildorrery road for 4.8 km. Grove Wellness Centre is on the right before speed limit sign, just before entering Shanballymore village.
